What is foam rolling?

You'll notice that I've required a 36 inch foam roller for all classes. Over the years, this simple prop has become the most significant in my "bag of tricks" to help you shape into your BEST selves in body, mind and spirit.

Our fascia forms a connective tissue matrix that surrounds muscles, organs and other soft structures within the body. To simplify....fascia connects everything and allows the body to move and glide as designed. Different stresses through injury, overuse, dehydration and more can lead to adhesions (what we usually call "knots) that
Self Myofascial Release can relieve. This is a very BASIC explanation, but I strongly encourage you to do the research on this if you're interested in digging deeper (pun intended!). A well-written explanation can be found here and a great rolling series can be found here, but there are many resources on the Internet.

The key....actually doing it! Without a group, a time, or a place, chances are that you won't fit this into your routine. Come join the *fun*!
With consistency, you will find that "rolling out the kinks" can and WILL help you:

---Correct muscle imbalances
---Improve range of motion in joints
---Encourage better circulation of blood and lymphatic fluid
---Bring you more in tune with your body's unique needs

You may wonder how you ever lived without it!!

Foam rolling is great for maintenance, but need a good massage therapist??? Call my friend Shanae Nelson!
